Our Therapeutic Practice Approach

At Cocoon Childcare, our therapeutic approach is designed to empower children and young people to lead healthy, happy lives, form meaningful relationships, and achieve their full potential. We understand that a sense of safety is the cornerstone of growth; when children feel truly secure in their environment, they can begin to explore and build new connections and relationships.

These connections lay the groundwork for emotional regulation, self-awareness, and the ability to embrace opportunities for learning and personal development.

Stage 1: Safety & Containment

Our initial therapeutic goal is to create a sense of physical and emotional safety for every child and young person. This foundation of security allows them to feel supported and contained in their environment.

Stage 2: Relationships and Connections

Once a sense of safety and stability is achieved, we shift our focus to fostering meaningful relationships and building connections. This step helps children feel supported and engaged with those around them.

Stage 3: Experiences and Learning

With strong relationships and trust established, children and young people are ready to embrace new therapeutic experiences and take advantage of learning opportunities that support their growth.

Our home will be led by a highly experienced manager with over 10 years of dedicated service in rehabilitating children from challenging backgrounds. Their remarkable success rate has seen children not only reintegrate into society but also thrive, discovering their potential and building a brighter future.

Although we are not currently OFSTED approved, we are committed to achieving this standard of excellence. We will be submitting an application to OFSTED for registration to ensure our home meets the highest regulatory standards and provides the best possible environment for the children in our care.
